Homer continues to
amaze and do it his own way. After two weeks in the Everglades, he started
south on the 19th. Every other Osprey we have followed has gone straight
south from the Keys to Cuba, but Homer has taken about the longest
possible route from Florida to Cuba. He took off on the afternoon of the
21st, and after flying through the night landed in eastern Cuba, where he
spent the night. Uncharacteristically, he made this trip with his
transmitter on almost the whole way, so we'll be able to get some good
information on flight speed (as soon as I have time to get around to it.)
