Oct. Homer once again demonstrates that he didn't read the "How
to Migrate to South America" manual. Rather than follow the normal
route through Florida to the Keys, Homer pushed off from Charleston, SC,
and flew out over the Atlantic to the Bahamas. This is the second time
we've seen one of our birds skip Florida completely (Felix, who skipped
all of mainland U.S., was the other). The first fix we had for him over
the Atlantic was at 19:20h about 100 miles (160 km) south of Charleston.
He probably started out over the water about 3-4 hours earlier.
