After about three weeks
on the Island, our ever wandering Homer decided it was time for a road
trip. On the 6th he headed back to America and spent a week around Lake
Assawompsett. (Massachusetts has the best place names on the planet.) On
the 13th he moved over to northeastern CT. We don't have any data between
the MA and CT locations, so we don't know how much he wandered around, but
this is an area very familiar to anyone who's been following our studies
of Martha's Vineyard Ospreys. There seems to be a big Osprey magnet over
there. Of the 12 Ospreys we've tagged on the VIneyard, six have spent
significant amounts of time fishing fresh water ponds eastern CT.
