27 Sept.: Elsie passed through Haiti on the 25th and is now in the eastern reaches of the Dominican Republic. If she is like almost every Osprey we have followed on this migration, she will now fly due south over about 350 miles of the Caribbean, with her next landfall being on the northern shores of Venezuela. A very small percentage of the Ospreys that have been followed via satellite telemetry along this route spend the winter in the Caribbean.
