like our bird is in a hurry to get to his winter home! On the 22nd he was
heading south along Lake Maracaibo, which lies between Venezuela and
Colombia. By the 23rd he was deep into Colombia and 2 days later he was in the state of Guaviare
on the Inirida River.
How far south will he go? Stay tuned.
The Osprey-ometer now reads 3350 mi. (5392
km). He left the Vineyard 26 days ago and is now averaging 116 miles/day
(186 km/day). Just in the past 8 days, he has flown 1725 mi (2777 km),
which is more than half his total migration distance so far. He averaged
215 miles/day during this stretch.
