20 Sept: We've never seen a bird do this before. If she makes it to the eastern end of the Bahamas (her current path is aiming her there), it will be a flight of about 1000 miles. Her first point out over the water was around 4:30PM. She probably followed the coast down to Point Lookout (her backtrail points right at it) and headed out over the water from there. She was flying about 27 mph (44 kph) between the first and last points over the Atlantic. At that rate, she's looking at a flight of nearly 40 hours for the whole trip!
