Homer is back
on the move. This time in the right direction. It may have been a bit of
snow that got him thinking about moving somewhere warmer.
After over a month along the south fork of the
Shenandoah River in VA, he headed south on the 29th, retracing his route
north from over a month before. He found Lake Gaston, upstream from
Roanoke Rapids on the NC/VA line. He spent the night west of the lake and
moved down (with his transmitter off) to a roost site west of
Jacksonville, NC.
We've long since given up trying to figure out
what this bird's going to do next!
