Homer
needs a refund on his compass. On the 23nd he moved about 60 mi. northwest
and spent the night south of Waynesboro and west of Charlottesville, VA.
On the 24th he flew back into the Shenandoah
Valley and settled down on the south fork of the Shenandoah River near
Elkton, VA.
Had he now flown 1104 mi. (1775 km). His fellow
first-time migrant Conanicus has flown almost exactly the same distance
and is in the Everglades!
His not-so-direct flight path has taken him
1104 mi. (1775 km).
