16-20 Sept.: Elsie has made it to Cuba! She is our first bird this year to leave the States. After sitting out some nasty weather as Hurricane Ivan headed north pretty far to the west of her, she took advantage of the northerly winds and headed south on the 19th.      It looks like she will follow the normal route southeast along the entire island before heading off to Hispaniola. Of the over 100 Ospreys that we have followed, only 2 have gotten to Cuba and headed west to Central America.
