3 October:  Tasha's radio hasn't been functioning well for about 5 days. She's moving southeast along the typical route for our Ospreys and is now in the Dominican Republic side of Hispaniola near Barahona, north of Cabo Beata--the last bit of land many Ospreys see before they get to South America.      This was the last signal we got from her. She may have been shot (sadly not a rare event as we were to learn later on), or her radio just malfunctioned. Or perhaps she was lost over the Caribbean.
