11 Sept: Stay-at-home Tasha is on the move! She left the Vineyard on the 11th, skirted along the south shore of Long Island (the first bird we've followed to do this), and made it to northern New Jersey later that day. On the 12th, she moved down to Cape May.      Cape May is a fantastic spot to watch the fall migration of all land birds, but especially raptors. Birds of all sorts are funneled to the southern tip of New Jersey and mill about waiting for the right winds and for migratory restlessness to overcome their aversion to heading out over open water.
