The first week-The new cell tower transmitters give us a mountain of data. There are so many points that it's easier to visualize where the bird was by showing his path. With the new transmitters we sometimes get locations every 2 minutes!
It's clear that Woody is hunting menhaden (bunker) out in open water. (hmm-I have him both as "Woody" and "Woodie" on this map. Will have to check on what it says on his hatch certificate.)
Weeks 2-3 - Still working the open water mostly.
10 May -Here's the track from one fishing trip. We can see him go out and wander around a bit, and then, he's obviously caught a fish, as he hightails it back to the nest.
14 May -Here we can see two fishing trips (I think). It looks like he was out and about looking for a school of menhaden and once he got lucky he flew back to the nest. Looks like he did this twice in this 2-3 hour snapshot of his foraging.
